Getalle, of hoe?

Wells-roman "The War of the Worlds" op die CBS Radio-stelsel regoor die Verenigde State gespeel.

Marginale oortuigender, sommige lewer foto's.

Daarom, as ouers sê:

Douglas Raybeck , an anthropologist at Hamilton College, agreed with Denning that aliens parking in orbit was about as plausible as Earth people deciding to do the right thing by them:

What should happen and what is likely to happen are dramatically different prospects. If they are in orbit above us, that indicates a greatly superior technology. In order to get here, they would have to violate what we know about the speed of light, or they would have had to make a journey of almost unimaginable duration. If they have not made any hostile moves, we have to assume that their intentions are benign. Unfortunately, this will not prevent rampant paranoia from becoming part of the national posture of the United States and other countries. That which is new and that which we do not understand is fearful.

Like Funaro, Raybeck thinks that weɽ want our alien translators to be anthropologists, science fiction writers, linguists, and others who have experience thinking outside the box about culture. But, he scoffed, "the likelihood of government officials listening to, let alone heeding the advice of such folk approaches the nano level."

Still, Raybeck did think there was a likely avenue of communication with the aliens:

They have arrived likely because they spotted one of our many technological signatures ranging from radio, television, radar, to elements in our atmosphere such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and a slew of other undesirables that indicate the presence of technological civilizations. In all likelihood, they will have already monitored our varied broadcasts and will likely be actively doing so in real-time to assess our response to their appearance. Ideally, we would broadcast through the radio and television messages of welcome by a range of world leaders possibly from the United Nations giving the illusory sense that we can speak with one voice and a common purpose.

Though the UN does have a council for dealing with outer space issues , CONTACT founder Funaro was as dubious as Denning and Raybeck when it came to the "illusory sense" that there is anything like a representative of humanity. He wasn't sure if it would ever be possible for real humans to meet these extraterrestrials:

Who speaks for Earth? No doubt, supposedly international groups like the United Nations, a superpower or coalition thereof or multinational corporations would attempt to preempt negotiations with diverse motivations, bedeviled by hackers using various electronic media. The typical human beings, true representatives of our species, are unlikely to have any say in the encounter, submerged as they are in the political, economic and social infrastructure of nation-states and globalization. Thus, the true multicultural diversity of our species may not be initially apparent to the new arrivals.

Here Funaro highlights a common complaint made about science fiction, which is the idea that there could ever be such a thing as a unified "planetary culture." Many SF stories assume that every planet has a single culture, despite evidence to the contrary on our own world. It's possible that aliens will make the same mistake with us. Or, even if they don't, they will never be given a chance to investigate human diversity because they will only be granted audiences with the rich and powerful.

As we think about the most ethical way to approach alien visitors, it's useful to keep Battaglia's single word — "hospitality" — in mind. As she pointed out, this is how humans should greet each other too, but we rarely do. It's no wonder that so many of our fantasies about alien first contact are full of war and destruction. But that's why we need to start re-imagining these scenarios now, and trying to come up with better alternatives. After all, we don't need to meet aliens to start testing out what it would mean to approach an unknown culture with hospitality rather than hostility. We can start right here, on Earth.

&ldquoThere was the time that my female counterpart was using a sea sponge because she was on her period. We were in doggie position and after ten to twelve minutes of banging away, I had worn the skin off on the head of my penis. It looked like Rudolph the Red Nosed Penis.

&ldquoBut that wasn't the worst part. After I realized the extent of my injury, I still had to bring it all to a &lsquohead&rsquo and finish off with the pop shot. In order to do that, I had to masturbate until I got to an orgasm.

&ldquoI was almost in tears while desperately trying to end the vicious punishment that my hand was inflicting upon myself. We got the pop shot, but it put me out for a week.

&ldquoOr, there was the time that I was really sick, but it didn't hit me until I was already on set. I asked the [production assistant] for something to help out, to which he stated &lsquoNo problem,&rsquo he had some DayQuil. Except it turned out to be NYQuil.

&ldquoAbout half way through the scene, I was falling asleep. When we were setting up for the pop shot, the camera man had to keep waking me up because I was turning into a narcoleptic while I was jerking off.&rdquo

UFOs & Aliens: An Introduction – May 30, 2021

“All things are wearisome, more than one can describe the eye is never satisfied with seeing nor the ear content with hearing. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again there is nothing new under the s un . Is there a case where one can say, “Look, this is new”? It has already existed in the ages before us… – (Ecclesiastes 1:8- 10)

It is the Lord Jesus Christ who determines the times and seasons of my life. It is the Lord alone who determines where I work, where I’ll go, what I’ll do or not get to do, and all of that is part of being set aside to do something which is bigger than myself. This work is bigger than myself and has wiped out half my life in order to make room for our great God to sit at table with a woman and put His words in her for safekeeping. God is bigger than me, in everything spoken here – let that be clear.

I found myself circling the drain on this, a drain I’ve circled and avoided with as much skill as I can because I didn’t want to be known as “that woman.” It is very easy to become “that person” in our current society- all you need to do is say certain things and your name will go all over the internet as ‘The woman who said that thing’. I shared how this feels a few months ago, it’s not pleasant I wrote a post where I almost shared what I’m sharing today but in the end I needed more time. You can read about that—> here.

Now I’ve had all the time I need. I know people misunderstand me a lot but I also know it’s not because I’m unclear. It’s because nothing in most of our lives have prepared us for the kinds of things I discuss here. No pastor, no Bible study, no sermon has told people that the End Times (in addition to being wretched and difficult) will also feature characters from the Harry Potter end of things- when people hear this they begin to wish for the Rapture harder than ever but there’s nothing I can do about that. I do feel compassion as I watch others grapple with these truths but I also remember the journey God took me on to receive them and I hope others will be brave and do the same. Go on the journey with God.

The Lord brought a powerful awakening into my life in 2012 and things have never been the same. I grew into the mantle He brought me. I went through many transitions but one thing I never did was shut the door on the Holy Spirit or get so frantic I closed my heart to Him or said “I don’t believe you.” You can’t treat truth that way God never told us His revelations had to be easy for them to be true.

As the Lord’s messenger I’ve heard many things. I don’t control what I receive. I don’t give myself dreams and visions, I don’t initiate the surprising conversations I have. I mostly listen, I write things down, I read them over time and by the leading of the Spirit I put them up in public. Today I’m going to share things I haven’t wanted to put up- (who can blame me?)- but here we are and it’s time to let them out.

My reasons for not wanting to share are simple- people mishandle information. Everything causes pandemonium with us. I did a series on angels last year (you can find the first post hier and the second here , or simply put ‘angels’ in the search box and read what comes up)- all through that series I had to keep warning:

“This is not a place I write fantasy. This is not a place to freak out and lose your peace, NOR is it a place to become an angel voyeur and start worshipping them instead of Jesus. This is a place to be warned that not every angel is good and that’s why God is warning us. Evil angels will be coming here so you need to be wise and stay away.”

Jesus is warning us. A great deception is coming and as usual we think it’ll come from the Catholics or secret societies or whatever but no, it will come from Satan it will come in the form of GROOMING by the devil’s workers.

Grooming is the diabolical practice of deception and manipulation.

Grooming is when you have a wicked desire in your heart already but you know it’ll never be accepted if you just come out and say it, so what you do is, you lay groundwork. You lay groundwork while acting like you have no desire at all, all the while planting seeds that lead exactly where you want to go. Then when the thing you wanted happens you look shocked like everyone else and say “Oh wow is this really happening?! Wow!! I never expected this! What should we do about it!”

Grooming is wanting something and acting shocked when it happens but all along YOU PLANNED FOR IT TO HAPPEN.

God has sent me to announce: Satan has planned a grand entrance among us. All his slaves, minions and servants are preparing for it while making innocent faces on TV, saying “We’ll figure this out together”, but the truth is Satan is behind what you see. They already figured it out long ago and are now presenting it to the world slowly in order not to cause panic, but the end result of this coming planned deception is that if God does not warn you first? You absolutely WILL be deceived.

So see this next series as the voice of Jesus warning you, directly and with strong love , that you are never to set foot where you see these beings or you may become a casualty of war. I have never wanted to talk about these things but here I am. I’ve made one or two admissions in other posts – I’ll put those links at the bottom. I wrote in code at times but now that you know what I’m talking about if you re-read those posts God’s meaning will shine through. Let us begin.

God says to tell all eyes on this page that alien beings are real and will be here on earth .

Aliens are real and will be on this earth living with us visibly, walking around where we can see them. They will be here with people, on earth, in America for sure- this I know. They will be here acting like this planet belongs to them and that’s where the worst of human history will be recorded by the faithful angels. That’s where the real revenge of Satan will take place, that’s where the real suffering of humanity will occur, YES in addition to everything else God has already said on this platform. It will all flow together.

I am not sure what aliens are. The point is not to pinpoint their origin but to tell you they are not from God . People say they’re demons, no they are not, demons are disembodied spirits with a distinct source. Demons are demons, we’ve seen them since the days Jesus was casting them out they existed before He was born and have continued their evil work right up to present day.

An alien is not a demon. It is not Nephilim, if I can call them anything it’ll be ‘seed of the serpent’.

They are the seed of the serpent, children of Satan. They are nie the saviours they’ll claim to be, deceiving many and using that saviour-complex as a way to infiltrate society. In the same way God has children born of Him by His Spirit the devil also has children born by other processes too.

When I was a child I went through a season of nightmares, consistent nightmares of only one dream. The dream played like a movie in that even if I sat up in terror, even if I tried to stay awake for 30 minutes or an hour, even if I clung to my sister for comfort to make the dream go away, as soon as I fell back to sleep the Lord pressed ‘PLAY’ and the dream continued from whatever place it had stopped.

Aliens came to earth in this dream and destroyed: everything. They came and shot rays all over, long lances of green light that sliced whatever they touched- buildings, people, animals- they cut it clean to pieces and exploded things with those lights and the whole world was running from them. The sky was full of them and most people had no understanding of what this was in the skies. This dream had me to where when my mom was wishing us goodnight my eyes were big as plates with trying not to sleep. I had it for months until I had to confess it. In distress I told mom aliens were coming, they were surely coming but she comforted me and said it was an allegory for something else and even if it wasn’t nothing was going to hurt me. She said “Nothing will hurt you sweetheart” – from that day The Lord respected my mother’s comfort and I never had the dream again.

However it was imprinted in my mind. I knew my mom was kind but she was also wrong. Even as a kid you know things- I knew you can’t see something in high definition like that, so many nights for so long, with such clarity and detail when you’re too young to be allowed to watch alien movies (we couldn’t even watch ET at our house!). How could it not be real? Where would visuals of all these things come from to a child without access to any stimulus like alien movies?

I just knew you can’t see stuff like that and it be a mistake. Those things were coming. People would run, the green rays would blast the night sky everywhere and screaming would happen just as I saw every night. I grew up and the dream faded but I never really forgot. The first time I ever saw anything like my dream was when Tom Cruise and his kids did two hours of running in War Of The Worlds. I watched that movie in frozen fascination and only one thought went through my head as I sat there: ‘These people KNOW.’

So today what I can say is this: Whether anyone would like to accept this or not, believe it or not, whether some will send this post to their UFO truther friend who has been looking all his life for proof that the thing he saw in 1971 that took all his father’s chickens is real even though nobody believed him, whether you’ve seen these things yourself or at least heard of them, or whether you believe the U.S. government and its endless lies about everything-

God has sent me to say to all TMV visitors that the things called UFOs en the beings that ride in them, are real. They are real. Nothing I post after this is to convince anyone of what I’m saying, this is a not place where I beg people to believe. I’m going to post what God said, what I saw, and carry on with my responsibilities before God just as I always have. (They’ve never been near me so it’s not that kind of experience). I will share from my archives the ones I feel able to make public. Dankie.

In what way do you think aliens would make world wide contact with mankind?

Assuming it hasn't already happened at some point, what are some speculations on how aliens will come out" of the existential closet?

Of several ways to make world wide contact, i think one that would be really interesting is having a mothership appearing from behind the moon and becoming stationery there for a great amouny of time so all around the world can see, feel and understand that their presence has been made. Next step would be smaller ships descending to earth and initiating contact and communications

Maybe they contact the UN.

Not perfect, but probably the most neutral way to introduce themselves to the world.

I'm assuming they don't want to align themselves with a global power. Maybe they do.

Maybe the Ancient Aliens Annunaki theory is right and they were coming back to rule Sumeria and turn it into a global power. Maybe they haven't made contact cause they're wondering what the fuck happened to it. "I don't understand, we left it right there, didn't we? Look, it's here on the map! Where did it go?" Maybe the UFO sightings are really them buzzing around looking for it.

If you haven’t read Snow Crash, you should.

I reckon truth is a lot stranger than fiction, and that Hollywood has accidentally manipulated our thinking to that it's going to be an experience that we are all more or less able to comprehend right now. Examples include landing on the White House lawn, floating above our cities, etc.

My humble opinion is that that are a lot of powers at play. I don't think we're going to have a handshake moment, more likely that we'll reach an understanding and awareness that we don't need a big spectacle. At some point it will just be understood that we're not the only intelligent species in the universe, and that it is possible to travel distances we thought impossible.

If you'll stay with me then I reckon science will reach a point where we can start to convert consciousness into actual hard science. Through this we will begin to see how reality really works, that it is actually all connected. That ETs are simply just ahead of us in their understanding. Quantum mechanics has already started to break down these connections and if you read their findings then you'll see how whacky normal science can be. The theory that we're in a simulation isn't far from the truth, but it isn't like the matrix, we're not in a giant computer. It's a lot stranger, to us right now, than that but ultimately makes sense.

Basically consciousness is just something we haven't understood yet, same with dimensions. They're the same thing described differently.

Stanton Friedman,a nuclear physicist, is convinced there have been multiple visitations of Earth by aliens, who will ultimately quarantine us here on Earth.

The Canadian claimed there "was not a shadow of a doubt" the existence of intelligent aliens was being covered up by global governments as part of a so-called truth embargo.

Mr Friedman, 82, is a top Ufologist, who has been at the heart of investigations into the mysterious Roswell alleged UFO crash of 1947, after previously working on classified projects for American aerospace corporation McDonnell Douglas.

Speaking to Dailystar.co.uk, he said: "We have enough to prove without a shadow of a doubt that planet Earth is being visited [by aliens].

"This is kept from people because who would want the world in upheaval? There would be mass panic and distress.

"If they (the aliens) want to make themselves known, it's easy &ndash they will."

He said recently declassified CIA files on UFO sightings were all part of the proof.

What To Do When Your Grown Kid Won't Talk To You

In the painful days after my husband’s death in 2009, I crafted a eulogy that concluded with a thought from The Book of Laughter and Forgetting by Milan Kundera. It went like this: “Milan Kundera once wrote, ‘Love is a constant interrogation.’ That was the marriage I shared with Joe: a constant interrogation that to the very end was animated by a mutual sense of discovery.”

Given my admittedly lousy memory, it should be amazing that I remember Kundera’s words — accurately! — almost 30 years after first encountering them. Given my befogged state of mind at the time, it should be even more amazing that I was able to latch onto those words to encapsulate our 24-year marriage. But I am not amazed. Kundera’s idea of love as a constant interrogation resonates so deeply with me that I agree with him that there is not a better definition of love.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt that the best expression of my love is to convey a keen and sustained interest in my loved one’s life, pursuits and concerns. To do that, I ask questions, try to give the responses my full attention and ask more questions.

So imagine the pickle I’m in. My beautiful 22-year-old daughter has recently arrived home, college diploma in hand (yay!), to resume residency under my roof after an intermittent absence of four years. She arrives not only more mature, but more certain of who she is — which is, among other things, someone who does not want to hear, let alone entertain, her mother’s questions. Far from experiencing my interest as love, she regards it as a disrespect for and violation of her personhood. To her, parents are to be seen, not heard.

Close and Yet So Far

While she lived at a remove, I was able to make my peace with this style of emotional distancing. Over the four-year trajectory of her college career, I, too, scaled a learning curve. It taught me that posing questions of any kind by email, text or messaging (phone calls, needless to say, bit the dust first) was pretty much an act of futility. They were not going to get a response. My daughter would tell me what she wanted to tell me only when she was in the mood to tell me.

To my relief and delight, when the mood struck during those college years, she often gushed a fount of information that afforded a vivid snapshot of her life and concerns. Like many Millennials, she was comfortable sharing details that I, like many boomers, would never in a million years have shared with my own parents. Such intra-generational intimacy is, I know, a source of boomer pride.

But I often found (perhaps you do, too) that by the time my daughter was ready to share, the information was past its flyby date and did not reflect her current preoccupations. I had to find a way to live without knowing. Over time, I made my peace this way: If I didn’t see it, I didn’t worry about it.

Now, we’re once again occupying the same space. Though I have an obstructed view, I cannot ignore what I am able to see: the comings and goings, what she’s doing, what she’s not. Her last three summers home familiarized me with the kinds of questions I best steer clear of, but that doesn’t make it easy.

Too Many Questions

When I see her walking out the door, it’s hard not to ask what to me seems the most natural (and polite) of questions: “Where are you headed?”

When she returns home from work looking exhausted, it’s hard not to ask, “How did your day go?”

When I see that she’s taken pains with her attire and makeup, it’s hard not to ask, “What’s the occasion?”

More challenging, I am now once again inhaling the oxygen of her moods. I learned the hard way that asking “Are you OK?” is an unwanted violation of her boundaries. I am trying to stay on my side of the line. But not expressing interest, let alone concern, when I perceive that my child is distressed feels about as natural to me as not breathing.

In search of parenting and coping strategies, I’ve read voluminously about “emerging adults.” I’ve also sought the counsel of friends whose kids are a few years ahead of my daughter on the emerging curve.

It’s been heartening to learn that I am not the only parent walking on eggshells strewn by a returning Millennial. It’s been reassuring to discover that mine is not the only child to erect a brick wall of tetchy, often angry, silence upon returning to the parental home.

One friend told me that her therapist advised, “Preface every question with, ‘I’m curious.’” She then demonstrated the appropriate tone: tentative, undemanding, one that conveys, I’m not being nosy, but … .

I have my own version of this, honed during my daughter’s college years. “I don’t know if you’re willing to talk about this,” I often preface a question, “but I was wondering … .” Experience has taught me that this strategy is a 50-50 crap shoot: I may get an answer I may get a snarky look.

Or Maybe Too Few?

My friend’s mention of a therapist recently inspired me to reach out to my old therapist for a session. “I want advice,” I told her bluntly.

She offered several helpful observations: The transitional moment into the adult world is “terrifying” for a lot of college kids. A parent’s offer of help, large or small, is often heard as a “vote of no confidence” in her child’s ability to figure it out for herself. A parent’s question, no matter its intent, is often interpreted as “a reflection of the parent’s anxiety” about his child’s future.

At this stage in a Millennial’s life, my therapist cautioned, “Questions have a heavy price tag. So choose carefully.”

That is now my mantra: choose carefully.

My attempt to muzzle my instinctive questions is the most difficult act of love I have ever undertaken. It not only feels unnatural, It feels unloving.

Stripped of my habit of constant interrogation, I am uncertain how to express my interest, my curiosity, my concern, my keen desire for an ever-expanding field of mutual discovery.

I can’t help but worry that one day my daughter will wake up with her own set of questions: Where did you go? Don’t you care? Geez, Mom, why don’t you ever ask me anything about my life anymore?

Hitting Limits

But not everyone agrees that the study’s results can be generalized. For one thing, Vakoch and others say, there are light-years of difference between acknowledging the presence of otherwise harmless microbes on the next planet over and being confronted with an advanced, technological alien race. Extrapolating from one scenario to the other isn’t necessarily going to be accurate.

As well, reactions to living aliens, whether microbial or not, are likely to be quite different than reactions to fossils, which is the scenario the authors probed with stories about the Martian meteorite.

Anthropologist Kathryn Denning of York University is also concerned that the Mechanical Turk users—the majority of whom, as the study identifies, are white, college-educated Americans—aren’t even close to representative of humanity as a whole.

“The leap involved in generalizing from this pretty specific sample to a broader human reaction is really problematic,” she says. “Another limitation of the study is that the American respondents were probably assuming that the discoveries were from American sources. It is easy to imagine that it would be a more complex scenario across borders.”

(The authors say they hope to replicate the work cross-culturally for this exact reason, and Vakoch notes that there’s already a bit of work in this area that looks at the differences in American and Chinese attitudes toward a first-contact situation.)

Denning also has concerns about categorizing the words used in news stories as simply “positive” or “negative” and using those results to infer any sort of complexity.

“I'd suggest that the really juicy stuff lies in the nuances, not in the overall average,” she says.

And in the event of a detection, the way news influences opinions will be vastly more complicated than one person simply reading a news story and logging their reaction. Conversations, social media, conflicting news stories—“this is enormously important,” she says, “and it points to the need for additional research about post-detection problems, research which digs into those nuances of 'how news moves.’ It's hard to study.”

To help approach those questions, Vakoch points to the work of Ted Peters, a theologian who has explored how finding life beyond Earth would affect religious beliefs. His work suggested that people who were confident in their own religious beliefs could make room for the existence of ET—meaning, Vakoch says, that even something as thorny and seemingly at odds with science as religion can survive an alien assault.

“People will be able to accommodate even high-impact scientific discoveries without their worldviews collapsing,” he says.

And if that’s true, then maybe the study’s conclusions aren’t so far-reaching after all.
